Stop covering those unsightly stains and start blasting them away with our tips and solutions for removing those toughest stains. There is no easier and more frustrating way of taking your home from immaculately clean to an eyesore than the dreaded stain. Sometimes, it is possible to cover the singular stain with a foot stool or a rug, but even so, the constant nagging thought of knowing that the stain is there means that you just can’t be at ease in your own home. Well worry no longer! By following our simple steps you will be able to live in the comfort of knowing that your carpet looks as good as the day you bought it!

Cleaning Essentials

When it comes to stains, it is important to use the right products and the right techniques. What you think is doing the trick can actually be making things 10x worse. Ensure when cleaning your carpet you employ these two cleaning essentials:

  1. Always act fast – letting the stain dry drastically reduces your chances of removal.
  2. Do not wipe stains – Blotting instead encourages the stain to transfer to the cloth.
  3. Test application to make sure that fibres are not damaged – underneath a TV cabinet or a sofa are ideal places to test the product.

Red Wine

The perfect partner for any dining experience, night-in, party and even a soirée. Red wine stains are lethal so in order to prevent a permanent stain, red wine carpet stains need to be tackled as soon as possible. Follow these steps to remove the stain:

  1. Blot the stain immediately with a clean cloth.
  2. Apply glow carpet & upholstery stain remover to your carpet.
  3. Allow it to settle for 5 minutes.
  4. Sponge out the stain with warm water.

If the stain is already dry, start at stage 2 for the best results.

Cola

The holidays have come and whether you have little children running round or just fancy an ice cold can on a hot day, a cola stain is almost inevitable. Unfortunately, that brown liquid is a nightmare to get out but don’t panic, glow carpet & upholstery stain remover is your cleaning ammunition. Follow these steps to remove the stain:

  1. Blot any excess spillage with a cotton or paper towel (cotton is more suitable as using paper can leave bits stuck in your carpet fibre!).
  2. Apply glow carpet & upholstery stain remover to your carpet.
  3. Leave for 5 minutes to settle.
  4. Blot again with a clean and absorbent cloth.

Fruit juice

Orange, cranberry, tomato and apple juice are stains which can feel as though they will never disappear. For fruit stains, we recommend the following process:

  1. Blot as much of the fruit stain liquid as possible with a cloth or cotton towel.
  2. Spray lukewarm water directly onto the stain (do not use too much as it can spread the stain and ensure the water is not hot as this can bind the stain to the carpet).
  3. Blot the stain again using paper towels, or a clean white cloth. The best way to blot the stain is by applying pressure to the stain and removing the paper towel or cloth. Ensure you avoid using a circular motion when removing juice stains out of carpet.
  4. Use glow carpet & upholstery stain remover directly on the stain and leave for a maximum of 5 minutes. Blot the stain with the towel repeatedly.
  5. Rinse the juice stain with warm water. Place a clean, dry towel over the stain and place a heavy object over the towel to hold it in place. This will help apply continuous pressure to the affected area when you’re wondering how to remove juice stains from carpet.
  6. Wait a few hours before removing the towels and object. Eventually, the stain should no longer be visible.

Coffee

It may be a lifesaver for every morning routine but coffee can be a complete nightmare to get out of your carpet. Essentially with coffee the stain must be treated straight away, refilling the kettle will have to wait!

Follow these steps to remove the stain:

  1. Blot any excess spillage with a cotton or paper towel.
  2. Apply glow carpet & upholstery stain remover to your carpet.
  3. Let the solution work its magic – this is the perfect time to refill that kettle.
  4. Blot again with a clean and absorbent cloth.

If the stain is already dry, start at stage 2 for the best results.

Tea

The driver behind most work places and homes, tea stains are some of the most common and like coffee they can be some of the most stubborn. Remove the stains by following these steps:

  1. Use a cloth and cold water to blot any excess spillage.
  2. Apply glow carpet & upholstery stain remover to your carpet.
  3. Allow it to settle for 5 minutes.
  4. Use a clean and absorbent cloth to continue to blot the affected area.

If the stain is already dry, start at stage 2 for the best results.
